A typical Japanese home where
most of our pianos come from.
After children grow up and move
away, the unit is no longer being
used.  Thus, private individuals
sell their pianos for restoration
How A Piano Immigrates
From Japan To The US
HOW KeyArts CONNECTS WITH
JAPANESE FAMILIES
The piano is taken to the
factory in Osaka.  Here
trained technicians begin
the process of refinishing
and reconditioning  the
pianos.
Expert care is taken while the
fragile action pieces are
being repaired or replaced.
Each key is assessed and
extracted.  Key tops and fronts
are replaced as necessarry
Polishing of keys and brass fixtures is
needed to bring back that like-new look.
Beautifully restored action!
Meanwhile, the piano
cabinet undergoes repair
work for pits, dents and
scratches.  afterward, the
entire cabinet is stripped
and refinished in the original
polyester finish.
Repair work is performed on all
other moving parts including
pedals and hinges.  Also, great
care is taken to ensure that all
screws and bolts are in good
working condition.
All pianos are buffed and
polished to their original
glossy finish and final
tuning and regulation
steps are performed.
This brings the piano
back to original factory
standards and it
becomes a "new" piano.
The above  piano is the final
result of the painstaking
process of restoration.  It is
ready for shipping and another
lifetime of use.
Pianos are shipped by container to
North America.
Next stop is to a showroom for your
selection.

Mongolian
Stewardship Fund
The overseas and stateside companies
involved in the restoration and marketing
of Kawai & Yamaha Professional Pianos
believes that recycling helps ensure the
availability and enjoyment of our planet's
natural resources for future generations.

Buying a large item such as a used
piano and re-introducing it to another
household is a perfect example of an
ongoing commitment to save the
environment.

Through the process of refurbishing and
reconditiong, unused instruments are
continually saved from wasting away or
ending up in landfills.

A portion of the proceeds from every
piano is donated to the Gobi Desert
Stewardship Fund, a non-profit
organization working to stop
desertification in Mongolia.

As a purchaser of either a Kawai or
Yamaha piano, you help to keep the
desert green.
Over the decades our business has
grown tremendously.  KeyArts has
evolved through several phases, from
sales of older pianos, rebuilding &
restoration to a dealership for
Baldwin & Kawai. In recent years I
have decided to specialize in just one
area...high quality Kawai and Yamaha
professional restored pianos, putting
all my energy into making these
wonderful instruments available.
Thanks to our customers who support
and cherish our philosophy reflecting
our commitment to quality, customer
satisfaction, product knowledge and
the environment,  we can offer you
this great selection of top quality
professional instruments that will last
a lifetime.
It is my fond hope that a generation
or more of music students will benefit
from the purchase our customers
make...so that long after KeyArts is
no more and those students have
grown into adulthood,
someone may remeber how that
piano came into the family and who it
was that provided it ....

One important step of the
process is to thoroughly inspect
and repair the action of each
piano.  Great care is taken to
remove the delicate action
components from the case for
repair.
